GRITS Imago Conference 2024
We would like to celebrate an amazing experience we’ve just had in Atlanta. The Georgia and Regional Imago Therapists, Facilitators, and Educators of the Southeast put on a weekend conference and had the blessing of Harville and Helen joining us.
Harville and Helen spoke about their new book, How to Talk with Anyone about Anything, in a community event on Friday evening which rocked the room. The data, the clarity, and incredible hopefulness of what they had to say had everyone listening on the edge of their seats.
Saturday they spoke with us again about The Space Between, giving another really powerful lecture, and then the conference attendees participated in small group conversations that were very rich.
In the afternoon, we played with the concept of Exploring Imago with Anyone about Anything, and put together a panel of Imago expertise dealing with different subjects. We covered the waterfront including:
Assessments using the Birkman and how to apply the results with clients (Bob Patterson and Brian Eames)
Hormones and how they’re affecting us (Jesica Matthews Eames)
Somatic work with trauma (Dr. Stephanie Citron)
Medical intervention with ketamine and plant medicine (Dr. Brad Johns)
How yoga, plant medicine, and ceremony can make a difference (Sonali Sadequee)
Where we are with our thinking about addressing spirituality with couples (Sulaiman Nuriddin and Myra Tillotson).
We had, of course, a fabulous party Saturday evening! Thank you to everyone for bringing the fun and food and a special thank you to Dr. Kathy Malcolm Hall and Ramsay Hall for the delicious BBQ!
Sunday, Jesica Matthews Eames provided the Clinical Update on the global scope of Imago in over 60 countries and Maureen Brine shared about her work in Iran. Kevin Kowal, Sonali Sadequee, and Jackie Levi shared an update on the Imago Professional Facilitator Training, community, and scope of work! We also looked at the research that has been conducted in Imago by Dr. Wendy Palmer Patterson, Dr. Maya Kollman, and Dr. Kathy Malcom Hall.
We wrapped up the conference with an ethics workshop exploring the Common Factors of Therapy that Dr. Kathy Malcolm Hall had discovered in her comparisons and research.
We are riding on a high wave of satisfaction and exhaustion. We wanted to share with you all how exciting this was for us, and how important it is that people are coming together in community. Maya and Maureen Brine, Christine from IRNA, participants from Alabama ,Tennessee, Florida and North and South Carolina all joined us. We had a wonderful showing of Therapists and Facilitators all participating in making this world a better place.
We encourage whenever possible that we thrive in community!!!
Join us in Chicago, October 2025, and we will continue to change the culture, one relationship at a time!!!
THANK YOU!
It is with a heartfelt thank you to our training director, Allison Dragony, who ran the conference, our conference committee, sponsors, Amber Salisbury for bringing us the delicious Sacred Cups coffee, and to Harville and Helen for their generous gift of time, and year after year inspiring us all to keep going. Please enjoy the gallery of photos below and our conference program with information on our presenters, sponsors, and conference committee.
